At TTANTI we care about the quality of the materials and processes involved in our manufacturing process. Many wooden watch/accessory brands look for cheap and fast production methods. Wood is subjected to harsh and damaging chemical processes, resulting in a finished product that resembles plastic more than wood. TTANTI respects the slow, painstaking and intelligent method of production. We respect our materials and the artisanal processes that create the finest and most sophisticated details.
Wood has its peculiarities. It reacts to humidity and extreme temperatures. Without treatment splinters or cracking are a possibility. Forcing the material without proper care will eventually snap or warp. The key to successfully working with this material is respect for the highly respected traditional methods as well as new and innovative solutions that take into account the long-term health of the wood.
We work with three different types of wood from Patagonia; Lenga, Roble and Aromo, each with its unique color and texture. Each type of wood was carefully selected to be transformed into an elegant and passionately created watch in honor of the traditions of Patagonia.
Creating a TTANTI watch is a time-consuming, carefully controlled and passionate process. We focus on each carefully selected piece of wood, the wooden ring must be cut in the best way to withstand daily use and normal pressures. Once selected, the wood goes through a shaping process, is cut to a predetermined height and then cut on our numerically controlled machines to achieve the exact measurement around the watch. After cutting, a mixture of natural oils is applied by hand to create moisture resistance while maintaining a natural and pure appearance. There are no harmful chemicals.
The details are what make TTANTI stand out from the crowd. When you put work and passion into the creation process, you will get quality results.
